More of the trip...

SICILY...

Coming up on....

Patmos

The cave where John received and wrote Revelations

Some of the original book of Mark

The Mediterranean at night

The Greek Island of Mykonos

EPHESUS!!!

After Christ died John brought Mary to Ephesus and this is where she is believed to have spent the rest of her life

Drinking out of the "pure water" fountain outside Mary's house. The legend is that if you drink out of it then you will get married within a year...hmm...when I got home my roommate said "Why didn't you bottle some of that up and bring it back home!!?"
More of Ephesus. These are ancient ruins from the 3rd century AD. It was amazing. This civilization was about 300,000. This is their ancient library.

The original NIKE!!

This is the temple. Medusa is at the top to keep all evil out..or your turned to stone!

They had plumbing even back then. The toilet time was actually a socializing time for the men. They'd get together and chat it up here at the public restrooms

This amphitheatre holds 34,000 people. Paul tried to come preach to the people here but they never let him in. That would have been a pretty big missionary discussion:)

LOVED Santurini

How beautiful is this?

Ang got ran over by these donkeys..not kidding. ha ha. You actually get to ride them back down the island to the ship but it was so windy we had to bus it back. Dang it

W were so sea sick on the way back to the ship..well and the whole rest of the trip! It was hurricane city. Look at the waters. You know we still managed to have fun though...Ang says at dinner "Just look at everyone" I look around and everyone is leaning their heads or elbows on the tables just looking grey. Then the next morning we find out another cruise ship was ship wrecked that was going from Greece to Italy as well. Scary...good thing we stayed safe. Some titanic, no bueno!

When in Rome

Ok people...I am back from Europe! I think it has taken me so long to update because there are too many things to write about and too many pictures. Just like journal writing or scrapbooking...great..you have so much then you never get to it. Therefore, I've decided to do just a little bit today and ill put up more pics later so here are a few from Rome which was our first stop...

The Fountain of Trevi. Im throwing in a coin to ensure my return to rome!

The gardens outside Saint Peters where amazing.

Yum

I loved seeing all the original paintings and sculptures

Don't you only see this stuff in your European History book? Wow

I had to play CIA agent taking this one. I put my camera on 'museum mode' and snapped this in the Sisteen chapel. "NO PHOTOS ALLOWED" It has always been my dream to go here since Mrs. Harrington's 5th grade class when we learned all about it. I bought a book and was reading every detail of each painting to Angela as she was kinda clunked out on my sholder at that time...jet lag had got the best of her. The rest of the trip when we needed a nap we said "Im taking a sisteen." :)

I LOVE my work!

So one of my patients turned 100 YEARS OLD this Sept. He is my favorite. Everytime I go see him he is just so happy to be alive. That's for sure his secret to making it to 100. I work for Hearts for Hospice and go visit our termanaly ill patients in their homes or facilities. We do music therapy together and they sing or relax or just reminisce about there lives. I really couldn't be happier!

Active summer

I've ran a few half marathons this summer, biking and hiking so it's been a fun and active summer
