'The Christmas List'

By Richard Paul Evans

A quick Hawaii interruption to tell you about this book. I was chosen to be one of 20 people to be the first one's to read his new AMAZING book (thanks Miche-his personal assistant). We went up to her cabin in Snowbird and read for 3 hours or so while eating, giggling (I read it with Beccs in a private room) and crying and analyzing life. This book is a MUST READ. It is filled with life, trials, warmth, love, pride, ruined relationships and forgiveness. For all of us from Utah, I loved how he uses all real places such as 'West Jordan, Park city, I-80, and The Blue Plate restaurant.

Go to YouTube and check out the video that we were able to be in:

Buddy Pass City!

Don't buddy passes sometimes seem like a dream come true? I am very grateful for getting them in the past when it works out..but when it doesn't...it is NOT a dream. Alana and I decided to use up my buddy passes I had that expired in July. The ONLY flight we could get on (that looked OK over the 24th) was SAN DIEGO. Bueno, here we come for some fun in the sun.

We were so excited but of course the plane was too jammed we couldn't get on. We went to the Jet Blue guy and told him our sad story and how us girls just "needed to get the heck out of here!" He was so nice and I think he felt bad for us that he eventually offered us buddy passes his mom had from United Airlines where she worked!

Ha! This is our new friend calling to ask if we could use the buddy passes. All the sudden we were off to Hawaii or NYC or who knows!!

While we were waiting for our plane to leave we ran to breakfast with our old friend from Hawaii! When he saw us he said "oh look who it is. The Yin and the Yang back together again!" BFF for life!

Needless to say we decided to just go to San Diego on our original Jet Blue passes because we can use those United one's anytime when we had more time to stay. We could only stay till sunday this trip. When my dad saw this picture he said "oh look, this looks just like the two girls in Taken" Oh sure dad!
Us RUNNING to the plane. We BAIRLY made it! All we brought was these little carry-on's so we could head straight to the beach!

Ok here we are in San Diego and have no ride to the beach. The car rental line was outa control and we didnt' want to wait or pay $50.00 a day. So I was like "It's fine Lane, we'll ask this gypsy guy to take us to the beach." I was kinda kidding but then I went up to him (he had just rented a car) and asked him where the beach is etc. Long story short he said he didn't want to die that day and neither did we... so we hoped in and he took us to the beach! Yahoo! So look how it turned out.

Justin: Oh cool you play the harp ? I play the guitar and sing for a living

Alana : Really? What's the name of your band.

Me: (Im thinking "Band?" Like he's in a band.

Justin : Motion City Soundtrack

Alana: What ?!! I love that band! They are the best!

He was way surprised that she knew his band but they are pretty big I guess. They just toured with Blink 182. Here is a little clip of music. He is the lead singer.

We made it to the beach and stayed there for 5 hours! Yahoo! We swam, layed out, talked a ton and laughed about how we hitched a ride over with a rock star. Smart!

We totally got hooked up with our KING size bed and tight house in San Diego. One of my friends hooked us up with this cool guy who let us stay at his place and he also drove us around. He was way nice and we had so much fun!
We had a fun night on the town!

Gas light district in San Diego

Lane even ventured out and ate SHRIMP! Good job lane. She's a pretty picky eater :)

We then were able to go visit Miche who was staying in a mansion beach house in Del Mar. It was soo pretty!

The three Hawaii roomies reunite on the beach.

This is Mitt Romney's place next door.

The crew...mostly Miche's family. Oh this was the best part. The dad that owned the house LOVES Utah State so Lane and I went over and did the Utah State fight song for him! Ha ha go Aggies!

The gorgeous house.

Such a fun trip! Thanks Lane love you!
