Fearsome Foursome and BFF Christmas get togethers :)

I cheered with these cute girls in college at USU and we called ourselves the "Fearsome Foursome" because we were always together and cheering, eating penny candy or waking up at 6:00 am to go to the gym...when we went to bed no earlier than 3:00 am. Nice. We all got together in Logan the other weekend and it was SO FUN! I love you girls!

Thanks girls and thanks again to Mergs for organizing it all and for the rad clocks of USU you gave us!

Then last FRIDAY we had the annual BFF Christmas party. The first one was at my cabin when we were in 8th or 9th grade. I LOVE you girls and I'm so excited about my new hot chocolate maker and fav movie "Girls just want to have fun." Sarah's dad made us the BEST dinner and we loved it. Love you! BFF for life!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!

"Yesterday, 7 December 1941-a date which will live in ...INFAMY! "

This is what earned me an A in history class.

My dad's birthday is Dec 7th and he would always repeat the Pearl Harbor speech when we talk about his birthday. Us kids would all roll our eyes...HOWEVER, when I was at USU freshmen history the professor stood up and said "Anyone that can complete this sentence gets an A...yesterday, Dec 7th a day that will live in ..." Of course I shouted out "INFAMY!"

THANK YOU DAD! This is just one of the many great qualities of my dad. He knows everything about history. Just on our recent trip we had so much fun going over the different wars and presidents and so many stories. I'm amazed at his memory! It's like looking into a history book. So happy birthday dad! Just wanted to tell you a few qualities that I love about you.

This is where my dad is working at in Whakatane, New Zealand. The hospital is small and he is loving having a relatively low work load. My dad is so hard working and smart and is a wonderful doctor and dad because he is sensitive and caring to others feelings. Now the people of New Zealand get to be blessed with your kindness!

My dad stood like this and said "Look little one (has called me that since I was born) I'm Samson" This is one of my favorite memories of my dad. He would tuck me in EVERY night and I would beg him to tell me a story. He wouldn't reach for a book, but he would tell me stories from the Bible or book of mormon. This was one of my favorites of Samson and Delilah. He probably had to tell it 100x's. Thank you! It was such a special time and when I think of these scripture stories I think of you.

This is my mom and dad's home in NZ. He is such a wonderful husband and father. I am amazed at his patience, love, understanding and thoughtfullness to my mom and us as kids. It's funny because I went on a date the other night and found myself talking about my dad half the time (real attractive I know). I talked about how he never wants to be flashy (drives a corolla :) ), is so kind and teaches us to work hard, is a wonderful example and tender hearted man. Why wouldn't I talk about him all the time?

It's so funny because my dad is known to be thrifty and not buy things we don't need. But..he sure does love his plants and he won't scrimp on those! When I got to NZ, sure enough there were 800 plants and a cute garden outside! He loves the earth and gardening and plants. He would always tell us we need more plants in our houses for the oxygen! Thanks :)

I love to see my dad sit back and relax. Why? Because this is a rare thing. He is always a busy bee, finding new projects. I'm glad he can lay down on the beach once in a while and appreciate some R and R for a guy who certainly deserves it! Thank you for your example, love and friendship! I love you and happy birthday!

My new boyfriend...90210 stye :)

So any 90210 fans? Guess who I ran into in LA? STEVE from 90210!!! I was loving life! He was so so nice and fun to talk to! I was on the phone with Karlee and I saw him sit down in my terminal to go to SLC. I said to her "Oh my gosh, should I go talk to him?" She was like "Um, Im kinda shy, so I wouldn't, but you totally should." You know he snapped this photo of us!

So I got off the phone and went and sat by him. "Um, sorry to bug you but are you Steve from 90210?" He's all "Yes, I used to be". Then he asked me my name and we talked all about him going to park city, our fav places to ski, etc etc. I was really impressed because he was SO NICE! He kept asking me all about me and what I did etc. When I told him I played the harp he was like "I LOVE the harp! It's the most soothing instrument..." Anyways we kept talking about what I did and music and stuff so in the end he gave me his address and I told him I'd send him my harp CD.

Shoot these pics are so little but he is adorable! I know I'm now a star struck fan..but he had the cutest smile and a little accent. I told him he had a little accent and he said it's cause he grew up in Jersey:)

The BFF absolutely LOVED this show growing up. We never missed an episode and we even had parties where we dressed up like the characters. Ok, and we also made a movie of the reenactment of their prom. I was Kelly and Sarah played Brenda and Rosie played Dylan and Brandon! Ha ha! "Eggs...where'd they go?"

Him on dancing with the stars. Good times

The glow worm caves...

We went to these glow worm caves. They were way cool to see. You see all these bioluminescent glow worms in them. Amazing.

More Robisms...

Rob "Where are you guys from?"

Man: "Malaysia"

Rob "Milk shaka! Where's that?"

Man: "It's by Thailand. Hey what do you think about your new president?" (EVERYONE is asking us btw. Whenever anyone finds out that we're from the US they ask what we think of Obama)

Rob: "I hope he gets boxed down. Hey, I'll tell you a secret how to save the economy. We'll have a box down: OBAMA VS MCCAIN!!! We'd raise so much money and save the economy! Especially if McCain wins, then we'll have a rematch and double our money.

Man: Reports back with a laugh and confused face

Blasted! for some reason the internet is so slow and won't let me upload pictures without taking an hour. We're down in Ohope Beach right now where my parents live so the internet is a little sparse. I have awesome pictures though so we'll get some up soon enough. Hope you all didn't get trampled this weekend at the shops!

The temple in Hamelton

The temple is so beautiful and out in the middle of the country. Wow, once we got out of Auckland, it is just miles and miles of green country land. So amazing and like nothing you've ever seen.

My mom found her uncle in the temple video who helped build the temple in the 1950's. He was a bricklayer and he and his wife lived here for a few years to help build the temple.

.
I heard some people speaking Spanish so i went to talk to them and found out that they were from Chile! It was so fun. The missionary that was talking to them was so excited so I interpreted for her. They were so fun to talk to and loved the temple. In the end they agreed to have the missionaries in Chile!

Look at what surrounds the temple. Tons of green and country side. There are cows everywhere.
Well, we are off to the beach now so ill have to finish up later! Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving! I'll miss seeing the Christmas lights at temple square tonight....but it's ok cause I'm loving the warm weather here and I just bought a pair of rollerblades for 1$ this morning at a garage sale while biking with my dad. We made it to New Zealand!!

After a 20 hour flight we are here in New Zealand. Rob and I left on sunday and at 3:15 pm and got to Auckland, NZ at 5:00 AM Tuesday morning (you pass the international date line). New Zealand is the FIRST country to see the light of the new day. Hopefully I won’t die over here or I would have been cheated out of a day :) It was so fun to see my mom and dad after a few months! Lookin great....long flight people.

This is a great view of Auckland, NZ. This is where we flew into. It is the biggest city in NZ. My parents live about 4 hours from here so we’ll be staying here a day and then staying in different cities along the way making our way back to their home in Ohope beach. This is a crater from a volcano.

Everything is so green...

We went up to this tall sky tower then later that afternoon we went on this ferry around the bay. What a pretty sight to see all the ships and and the land from a far.

The tour guide mentioned that people bungee jump off this bridge. I thought that would be really fun but it was closed for the day:( She mentioned that if you go NAKED it is FREE. You know Rob was all over that “All right! I’ll do the honors of bungee jumping naked. Then we can put it on utube and make millions!!" Because everyone wants to see Rob naked right?

There is a definite plus for going on a trip with Rob. We always have stories and good humor. Here are a few great moments of Robisms already:

#1
Situation: We see a man at the airport with a pink turban on his head.

Rob: “Hey Heid look! It’s the gay taliban!”

Me: “Rob, you can’t say that! You have to be quiet.”

Rob: “Heid, they should make those guys shave their beards. Any one of them could be Osama. They could be hiding a bomb in their beard!”

Me: Laughing and hiding from the ‘gay taliban’ :)

#2 Everytime we talk to a person from another country or with an accent Rob thinks he has to talk back to them in an Asian accent.

Rob to waitress: “Oh what you like food..for you..number one on you menu?”

Waitress: “Um you could get the chicken sandwich”

Rob to another server: “You need to read the kick ace Book of Mormon. It’s a heck of a book. Good for you. Change you life.”

Everyone is a total GYPSY down here. Look how everyone crosses the road. You don’t have to obey any lines or anything, you just cross or kris cross or whatever to get there. Tons of people gypsy barefoot around. No shoes no problem. Good times:)
More updates to come...
