All over the place

I've been asking myself  "Why have I not been blogging lately?"  Who the heck even knows!  I think it is because I kinda feel all over the place since I've been back from Chile.  What has even been going on?

Oh, have I mentioned I love working with the older ladies and gentlemen of our society?  How do you even say that politically correctly?  Did any of you see the movie "The invention of lying?"  The sign outside the retirement home said something like "Sad place where older depressed people live."   Oh boy.  I can laugh at that because I work for hospice!  Let's be honest :)

Just a few stories as of late...
My patient:  "Let me give you some advice honey"
Me: "Shoot"
Patient:  "If you want to live to be 97 like me, you better get off your ASS and do something with your life!  That's what I tell my grandkids."
Me: "I'll be sure remember that one Sir!"

Another patient:

"You've got the best damn figure in this whole world."

( I think it's fine to swear once you hit 90 or so.  It's funny, one of my friends told me that when he was little he heard his grandpa say a slew of swear words and he looked at his dad for an explanation of some sort.  His dad said "Um son, you can't say any of those words until you are 100 years old."  ha ha!  smart answer)

Me:  "oh gee, thanks."
Patient:  "I'm a bit older than you though.  You know that right?"
Me: "oh uh ya, only by like 70 years!"
Patient:  "I've got a great pension though.  Oh, and wait till my garden blooms this spring.  I'll give you all the peaches and apricots you could ever want!"
Me: "Oh boy, I have been looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong places!"

Oh did I mention that I have a new boyfriend?  YES!!  This is him!  I about cried when I saw this picture.  Hottie to the max.  Alana's date was all sorts of confused tonight when I said "my boyfriend is coming over".  I tried to explain that any boy I like or even see or go out with is "my boyfriend".  It's the smartest thing ever!  So here is my NEW boyfriend :)

Ok back to the old people comments.  As you can see, I went from platinum blonde, to medium blonde, to dark brown....and now...when I saw one of my patients with this new color he said
"Oh good.  You're letting your hair go back to blonde"
Me: "Yea, something like that.  You like it better this way?"

Patient:  "Um, let's just say when you were blonde you actually looked like someone that a boy would want to marry.  Not really with dark hair.  You were more wild when you were blonde"

WILD??  hhmmmm....

Well, I've settled on this medium blonde/brown color.  We'll see how 'wild' I get with this new du.

This is one of my cute harp students who had her Book 2 recital sunday.  She did a FABULOUS JOB!  I was very proud to be her teacher.

One more comment on old people I love.  This is 'Florcita' in the video.  She is like my grandma in Chile.  We would always tell her she is a MODEL and so HOT and she would eat it right up.  Take a look...

Speaking of Chile.  We are having a party this FRIDAY to make and donate the hygiene kits.  It's mostly to get people together who want to help but haven't made time for it yet.  Let me know if you want to come and I'll give you the details!

UTAH CHILE PROJECT

Yes!  I did make it home just a few days before the big 8.8 earthquake hit Chile.  It was such a blessing to be with the people that I love and tell them how amazing they are, right before such a big tragedy.

Many of the people that I love have sent me emails.  They are all alive but they also need our help.  This is a picture of Elaina.  We taught her at the beginning of my mission, threw her a wedding and she was baptised.  We went down South to visit her and it was amazing to find out her husband got baptized, they got sealed in the temple, they have 2 boys and she is Primary President!  She is the best.

I was very worried about her because she lives just a 2 hours away from where the earthquake hit the strongest.  Her and her family have been accounted for so I am relieved at that.

I know that Chile still needs our help!  My family has a non-profit organization called 'COLOR MY WORLD
please go to:

http://www.colormyworldkids.org/Color_My_World/Chile_Project.html

You will read on the sight we are donating hygiene kits.  You can put a kit together yourself, with your family, church, work, etc and come drop them off at one of the drop off points.  You can also donate partial kits.  Just grab some tooth brushes or soap or whatever (there is a list on the site) on your next trip to the grocery store and help out the people that I love so much in CHILE!!

Thank you so much for your help.
This is a little preview of what the sight looks like (I couldn't fit it all on here).  On the sight it tells where some drop off points in Utah are and there are more specifics.  Let me know what you and your work, church, families may want to do to help to get the hygiene kits going. I'm sure we can all get ideas from each other!
Un monton de GRACIAS!
