The glow worm caves...

We went to these glow worm caves. They were way cool to see. You see all these bioluminescent glow worms in them. Amazing.

More Robisms...

Rob "Where are you guys from?"

Man: "Malaysia"

Rob "Milk shaka! Where's that?"

Man: "It's by Thailand. Hey what do you think about your new president?" (EVERYONE is asking us btw. Whenever anyone finds out that we're from the US they ask what we think of Obama)

Rob: "I hope he gets boxed down. Hey, I'll tell you a secret how to save the economy. We'll have a box down: OBAMA VS MCCAIN!!! We'd raise so much money and save the economy! Especially if McCain wins, then we'll have a rematch and double our money.

Man: Reports back with a laugh and confused face

Blasted! for some reason the internet is so slow and won't let me upload pictures without taking an hour. We're down in Ohope Beach right now where my parents live so the internet is a little sparse. I have awesome pictures though so we'll get some up soon enough. Hope you all didn't get trampled this weekend at the shops!

The temple in Hamelton

The temple is so beautiful and out in the middle of the country. Wow, once we got out of Auckland, it is just miles and miles of green country land. So amazing and like nothing you've ever seen.

My mom found her uncle in the temple video who helped build the temple in the 1950's. He was a bricklayer and he and his wife lived here for a few years to help build the temple.

.
I heard some people speaking Spanish so i went to talk to them and found out that they were from Chile! It was so fun. The missionary that was talking to them was so excited so I interpreted for her. They were so fun to talk to and loved the temple. In the end they agreed to have the missionaries in Chile!

Look at what surrounds the temple. Tons of green and country side. There are cows everywhere.
Well, we are off to the beach now so ill have to finish up later! Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving! I'll miss seeing the Christmas lights at temple square tonight....but it's ok cause I'm loving the warm weather here and I just bought a pair of rollerblades for 1$ this morning at a garage sale while biking with my dad. We made it to New Zealand!!

After a 20 hour flight we are here in New Zealand. Rob and I left on sunday and at 3:15 pm and got to Auckland, NZ at 5:00 AM Tuesday morning (you pass the international date line). New Zealand is the FIRST country to see the light of the new day. Hopefully I won’t die over here or I would have been cheated out of a day :) It was so fun to see my mom and dad after a few months! Lookin great....long flight people.

This is a great view of Auckland, NZ. This is where we flew into. It is the biggest city in NZ. My parents live about 4 hours from here so we’ll be staying here a day and then staying in different cities along the way making our way back to their home in Ohope beach. This is a crater from a volcano.

Everything is so green...

We went up to this tall sky tower then later that afternoon we went on this ferry around the bay. What a pretty sight to see all the ships and and the land from a far.

The tour guide mentioned that people bungee jump off this bridge. I thought that would be really fun but it was closed for the day:( She mentioned that if you go NAKED it is FREE. You know Rob was all over that “All right! I’ll do the honors of bungee jumping naked. Then we can put it on utube and make millions!!" Because everyone wants to see Rob naked right?

There is a definite plus for going on a trip with Rob. We always have stories and good humor. Here are a few great moments of Robisms already:

#1
Situation: We see a man at the airport with a pink turban on his head.

Rob: “Hey Heid look! It’s the gay taliban!”

Me: “Rob, you can’t say that! You have to be quiet.”

Rob: “Heid, they should make those guys shave their beards. Any one of them could be Osama. They could be hiding a bomb in their beard!”

Me: Laughing and hiding from the ‘gay taliban’ :)

#2 Everytime we talk to a person from another country or with an accent Rob thinks he has to talk back to them in an Asian accent.

Rob to waitress: “Oh what you like food..for you..number one on you menu?”

Waitress: “Um you could get the chicken sandwich”

Rob to another server: “You need to read the kick ace Book of Mormon. It’s a heck of a book. Good for you. Change you life.”

Everyone is a total GYPSY down here. Look how everyone crosses the road. You don’t have to obey any lines or anything, you just cross or kris cross or whatever to get there. Tons of people gypsy barefoot around. No shoes no problem. Good times:)
More updates to come...

____________HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH AND BECCS!!

NOV 20TH is a birthday shared by two of my favorite people! My niece Hannah and bff Beccs!

We started out the day at The Little America where Beccs and I had a birthday breakfast which was for the charity "The Christmas Box house." It was a neat way to start the day. A young boy told a touching story of how his parents were on drugs and him and his brothers were sent to the Christmas box house. They were placed in foster care and he told of how grateful he was that the Christmas box house helped him and his family. He announced that he just graduated from high school and he was the first person from his family to ever graduate. Everyone clapped for him and he humbly grinned. I looked around and saw many people crying..including me. It's always a blessing to get pulled down to reality. Thanks Miche for the invite.

Later that day I met Hannah and her friends at 'Kangaroo Zoo" where we ran around and jumped around playing on all these fun slides and bouncy things. Good times. Cathie was the only adult playing on them..until I got there of course! It was so fun. The new hot gift for little girls is apparently these "littlest pet shop" toys. Hannah got 12 of them! She was so excited! Hannah is a true sweetheart and I love to be around her. She is never braty....and if she ever slips up she sure is quick to apologize and be sweet once again. She is great at remembering dates and names. She is so smart and LOVES school and pretending that she's a teacher. She has a class list and reads their names off often, making sure everyone knows who's in her class. Hannah, Im so excited for your baptism on DEC 20th! I love you!!

Becca Becca Beccs I love you!! I couldn't ask for a better friend than Beccs. She is always here to listen to me, laugh with me, play with me and do the "miss you dance" with me (yes we do a dance everytime we see eachother out of excitement). I just love being around her. She is always trying to make herself a better person while also lifting others up and making them feel important. This is a rare quality..especially among girls:) I have learned so much from her and she makes me want to be a better person. Also, we laugh so hard together and never run out of things to say. What else could you ask for!? I love you Beccs and happy birthday!!!!

Part of the "miss you dance" he he

All our friends took Beccs to dinner and then we were going to go out dancing but we ended up being 'too fat'. Ha ha, we just laughed all night after and watched the office. Smart. I love birthdays!

New Kids on the Block!

Don't worry that we went to New Kids on Saturday night!! My friend got a bunch of free tickets from her work so we all decided to make it a big girls night out and sing our hearts out:) There were tons of girls everywhere singing and loving the now OLD new kids singers! They started singing "Oh oh a oh oh"..you know the song...and i looked down and EVERY girl was doing the dance! Priceless!

It was actually way fun and funny so if you can go to a flashback concert from your childhood....definitely do it! Thanks Melissa and Miche for the invite and sorry for the last min 'not enough tickets dilema' at the end Rose and Kels. Maybe Paula or Michael will come and you know we'll be there for sure!! Front row :)

Blackout Thursday..Go Utes!

Wow, this game was SO FUN to be at!! Well...some of it at least:) I ended up not being able to get out of teaching my aerobics class and my friend had to work late so we showed up in the 3rd quarter. Everyone around us kept saying "You came at the perfect time. You're not cold and you haven't missed much."
It was so fun..really. So exciting for Utah. We were laughing so hard and cheering them on but secretly hoping that the Utes have a bad day when they play the Y...since that's where both our loyalties lie..(come on, both our brothers played for the Y) But then again...I ended up graduating from the U and he is currently doing his residency at the U...hhmmm...

Anyways, I'm sad i have no pics of the game. My camera is still out of commission. I might go get a new one tomorrow before my weekend trip! Tell you about it when I get back....with hopefully some pictures..FINALLY!
