My first Triathlon!!

I finished my first triathlon last weekend in Lake Mead. It was way fun! I even got a medal:) Rosie's husband bart is a professional cyclist and is sponsored by MonaVie so he hooked us up with these sweet outfits. People were asking us how we got sponsored by MonaVie. Ha ha! Yea right..like we are sponsered!!

Beccs and I on the way down. Treats and all...you know it!! This is my mom's bike I took down. Good times. Rosie was laughing at my excellent bike. She has some pro bike. Whatever, it's cool!

It was absolutely gorgeous before the race at 6:00 AM.

Rosie and I before the race. I rode down with Beccs then met up with Rosie to do the race. She was the biggest help to me showing me the ropes, fixing my bike, etc etc.

Get ready!

Everyone wrote their numbers on their arms and ages on the calves. It was fun to see everyone's ages as they passed you or you passed them! I loved it when someone 77 years old passed me. Good times!
Yeaaa Rose! Lookin hot

Go 35!! Ok, so now I better tell THIS race's catastrophe for me. So I rented a wetsuit online when I registered for the race. When I went to pick it up that morning they informed me that they sent an email out saying they wouldn't have them anymore (we all know how great I am at checking the email....currently 2438 unopened in inbox!) ha ha. Anyways so I had NO WET SUIT. I didn't think it was a big deal but apparently everyone else did. People looked at me like I was some kind of celebrity or something saying "wow, that's legit. No wet suit?" Rosie asked if I was still going to do it. I was like "Of course!" Apparently people use them not only for warmth but for buoyancy as well.
I do have to thank Hawaii for it's big waves and me swimming in them daily when I lived there. The swimming in the tri was actually my favorite part! No salt water and no huge waves. Most people don't really like the swimming. The bike was my toughest part. Gotta get to spin class and as Rosie said "Um yea, you'd do alot better on a better bike!" :) Ok ok.
The running was fun. You are tired but metally it was ok cause in my head I kept thinking "da, I can do this...i just ran 13 miles a few weeks ago!"

The MonaVie crew. Go team!!!

by the way the tri is:
SWIM: 1/2 MILE
BIKE : 13 MILES
RUN: 3.2MILES

JUST A SPRINT BUT WELL WORTH IT!!

The rest of the Vegas trip with Beccs

Becca's sister Andrea was SO NICE to let us stay there. She made us way good meals and we got to play with these cute kids.

We loved life laying out at The Palms and also the Golden Nugget. The weather was in the 80's and PERFECT!!

Yahoo! We loved the waterfall in the pool!

BEST FRIENDS!!!

You should really make a stop at The Golden Nugget when you go to Vegas. They redid it a few years ago and spent 100 million. The pool alone is 30 million..you'll see why in a minute. It has a 1930's feel and is way cool. We loved it!

This water slide goes right through this big SHARK TANK!! It is so cool. It is right in the middle of the pool and every one swims and lays out around it. It was me and Beccs and all these kids going on the slide. So fun. You can see the sharks as you go through. Hey, take your kids there or something. It's free and they don't ask for your room key. Smart.

What is Vegas without a little shopping?? Shout out to MEL AND MATT for GUESS! I absolutely LOVE GUESS. I told Beccs that was the only store I really wanted to go to. I fell in love with it in Hawaii when Melody introduced me to it. I thought Guess was only the jeans from the 80's. You know the ones! Well, it's not. It's the cutest ever! I found some of the cutest clothes and jeans. Good times. I decided I could justify buying a pair since I have not bought a new pair of jeans for 1 YEAR. Hey I thought that was pretty good..also I still sport jeans that I bought when I was 20. Here's to longevity.

VIVE LAS VEGAS!!

Welcome home!!

My parents and Ro came home from their humanitarian work in New Zealand on monday night! They came in on a boat! :) jk. I didn't take any pics at the airport that night. Blasted!

This is a pic of a boat ride we took in NZ. Here is one more Ro memory for you:

While we were riding in the wind Ro decided to farmer blow his nose..and of course ...it blew right into my face!!

Me: "Ro! Gross!"

Ro: " Oh Heids it's fine. It'll wipe off!"

WELCOME HOME!!!!
