Night at the theatre

Best. Movie.  EVER!!!
DEAR JOHN
Coming out February 05, 2010
I was lucky enough to randomly go see the sneak preview of this movie tonight.  I know, so sappy, and girly, but I cried my eyes out!    Oh no people, not just at one sad part or another, but throughout the WHOLE thing.  I think it's because I related to this movie on so many levels.

Autism, people you care about in the war, 9/11, falling in love on the beach, timing never being right with the person you love, missing someone so bad it hurts, TRUE LOVE.  Sorry if this is a bit cheesy.  Give me a break, I just got out of the movie.  Can't wait to see what you all think.

It was funny because all day I was thinking "I just want to watch a movie tonight."  I then randomly got invited to this sneak preview and then right after I got out, Beccs invited me to go see

LEAP YEAR

I will let you know that I had already seen it and yes, I went again.  Two movies back to back.  Different theaters.  Way good times.

I have to say that I am semi-obsessed with this lead guy from Wales (my ancestors are from Wales!).  Every 5 minutes I would let the whole theatre know how much I liked him:)  Beccs was like "He is perfect for you. Sarcastic and 'cool', but sweet and hot and a foreigner."  It's true!  I will do the honors!  Please bless I marry him.  Cross your fingers :)

Anyways, just giving you a heads up on the upcoming movie....what are you all excited to see?  When in Rome?  Valentines day?  Dear John?  :)

"It's fine"

A couple of jumps...

A few big vertical incline climbs.  It's fine right?   If you know me you know I have the saying of "It's fine" and I use it in almost every little bind that we are in.  For the most part I really believe this.  Sure there are ups and downs and big trials and what not but everything will turn out ok and just fine in the end....the way that it's supposed to.  Right?

When we went to Hawaii this past summer we wanted to stop and go on this hike but all of our luggage was in the back of the car.

Bart said "Um, we should probably go and take the luggage out of the car first.  I hear the crime is really high here in Hawaii"

Me:  Quiet

We were debating what to do for a little while and then...

Rosie said "Ok, we are taking the luggage back.  Heidi is just sitting there and she is NOT saying 'It's fine'".  She says that for everything and so in this case, it must really not be fine."

Smart move.  When i lived in Hawaii my car got broken into 4 different times that I can remember right now.  Don't worry, I got smarter and didn't really have anything in it in the end, but they would still brake in and try!
Well, this past weekend we got to go snowmobiling up the canyons and stay at a fun cabin.

We had a blast until the guy I was riding with (I was riding on the snowmobile in FRONT of him like a little kid) decided to FLY OFF A CLIFF and we landed nose dive into the mountain.
And then it was NOT FINE!!!  I was pretty shaken up.  I had a helmet on so that was good but I was screaming for my life.

Final diagnosis:
thought I broke my pelvis
bruised knee and wrist
cracked open chin (which now it is official, I broke part of my chin bone off)  My dad the doc checked it tonight.  GOOOOD ONE!  Sometimes it's not fine.  I'm just grateful it's not worse!  Could've been a lot worse!

Beccs was nice enough to play nurse and get me cleaned up.

THANKS BECCS!
Everything turned out all right and I am feeling alot better now.
Time to coz in the cabin.
And make a pyramid! Of COURSE we made a pyramid :)

Had a great time with people that I love.
It's always nice when someone can carry you to the car with one arm like it's no big!
One of my FAVORITE friends from Hawaii...Ace!

Thanks for the invite.  I am for sure using the "It's fine" line less frequently these days!

Angela Hughes Photography

If you are just glancing over these pictures, you should know that Becca and I are not getting married, YET anyways.
My sister in law started a photography business in New Hampshire where she shoots some amazing photos.  While she was out here in Utah she shot some bridal pics of Becca and I for wedding advertisement.  We had a great time and she did a wonderful job.  Here are a few sneak peaks of her work.

We just went around North Salt Lake shooting at random places.  She was so fun to pose for because she just told us to laugh and have fun.  Um ok, we can do that!! :)

Beccs and I were dying because we saw the cover of 'Bride Wars' last night at Blockbuster and we were like "That is us!!"  We didn't even mean to but our dresses were WAY similar to those girls.  Too bad my hair wasn't back to blonde for the shoot!

So anyways, go check her out at Angelahughesphotography.com
Thanks Ang, we had a BLAST!!

I can barely move

Brian and his family are in town for the annual ski trip!
This is me smiling BEFORE we hit the mountain.  I taught my kick box class for the first time in 3 weeks (Christmas/new years breaks) and we did 800 lunges and squats and arms etc.  So add that with boarding the next day, let's just say I am pretty sore!  ps thanks Rose for coming to the class!  It's so fun to have friends come :)
I love little Elizabeth!
Our friend Gary Nate skis with us every year.  He is Angela's dads friend who also happens to film for Warren Miller ski films.  Try keeping up with him for the day!  Whoa.  We love Gary!

And we love SNOW BASIN!!
I can't even stand how cute she is.
Best dad EVER!

We even got my cute mom up skiing.  She won 2nd place in the Utah ski competition when she was in college.  I'll brag for her!  She still rocks on the skis!

Lizzy and Noah killin' it :)
Doing what we do best..CHILLIN in the luxurious lodge!  Feels soooo good to warm up and eat!!

LOVE this pic.
Elizabeth going NUTS on the fries :)  Smart!

Your know your tired when you fall asleep on the couch while eating trail mix (my fav).  What a fun weekend!

Isn't it funny..

..how we all get on the bandwagon of the New Years goals?  This year I thought "I'm going to start on Dec 26th.  Why wait until Jan 1?"  Let's just say that didn't work out at all.  From Dec 26th to Dec 31st I feel like I'm still on Christmas vacation.  All I can say is that there is just something magical about JAN 1ST that gets us all going.

When I go to teach my kickboxing class in January it is packed!  February is about half as packed and by March it is back to normal size :)  So what can keep us all motivated throughout the year?
(This is my motivation pyramid if you can't tell). These girls are our cute friends from Iraq that my mom helped teach in school when they were in elementary. She helped them learn English and read and was a great influence on them.  They ended up joining the church and are such wonderful girls.  We have been friends with them for 10+ years and we love them!
Anyways, back to goals.  I think it is important to do little rewards along the way (trips, sense of accomplishment, something to look forward to).
Every year my dad has us make a "TOP TEN LIST"  for the year.  We have done this for as long as I can remember.  So here was mine that I just emailed over to my dad for this year:
1. Traveled to Dubai with Alana
2.  Went to Sarah's wedding in Hawaii with the BFF
3.  Ran my first Triathalon in Las Vegas and the moab 1/2 marathon

4.  Dated Cavett for 8 months and went to Jeep Safari in moab, Vegas trip, camping alot, snow boarding and Hawaii with him

5.   My best friend from college Alana got divorced, we traveled to San Diego and she moved into the condo and we painted and redecorated!  My other roommate Michelle was pregnant and had a baby.

6.  Bought a SUV when the Rodeo broke down :(
7.  Went to Disneyland for my Golden Birthday of 29 with my mom and went to the Beach in Lagoona, saw Melody in Huntington, golfed on Tiger woods home golf course and had a blast!

8.  Died my hair dark brown!
9.  Went on the singles cruise to Mexico (mazatlan, cabo and puerto vierta) with Karlee and Lindy.
10.  Was diagnosed with Bacterial overgrowth and finally got treatment and started feeling better!
11.  Snowboarded alot.  Went with Brian's family to Snow Basin while they were in town and also Park city, Brighton and Snow bird the rest of the year.

(I secretly snuck in 11).  A lot of these had goals that were associated with them and they were rewards to reach the goals.  Some were just for fun :)

I think you all should make a top ten list and save them every year!  It's a fun to take a quick look back at the highlights of one year.  We used to all say "bug dad.  Don't bug us about top ten."  Now I love it!

Today in church I heard a good idea of making a new goal each month and working on that for the month instead of something for the whole year.  I liked this idea!

A big thing i want to focus on this year is being CLEAN!!

Like the fresh fallen snow! So clean huh? This includes alot of things and yes people, a clean room is at the top of my list. Your real weaknesses are the one's that are hardest to change but I have faith I can do it !

“And if MEN come unto me I will show unto them THEIR WEAKNESS. I give unto MEN WEAKNESS that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for ALL MEN that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them” (Ether 12:27).

Also I want to be clean in mind, talk, spirit etc. Clumping them all into one.

Another goal will have to be to get a new camera. I was in LOVE with mine and lost it (hence no Christmas or New years pics).

Well today my bishop announced

"2010 will be a REMARKABLE and INCREDIBLE YEAR for us all!" and my mom said "Even years are the best years!"
All positive comments. I'll take them!
HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE and best wishes in 2010!!
